It was a typical Saturday afternoon when Tom felt an itch on his arm. He had been working in the garden all day, pulling weeds and planting fresh tulips for the spring, and he quickly dismissed the irritation as a simple flea bite. After all, they had recently adopted a stray cat, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the little feline had brought some unwelcome guests into their home.
Tom continued with his chores, occasionally scratching at the persistent itch but thinking nothing more of it. His wife, Emily, noticed his discomfort and suggested he take a break. “Why don’t you come inside and have a look at that?” she advised, concern etched on her face. “It’s probably just a flea, but better to be safe.”
