A 14-year-old who went missing while on a group trip has been found dead, according to authorities
Officials with Obsidian Middle School said the teenager was a recent 8th grade graduate

A 14-year-old boy who disappeared while on a group trip in California has been found dead.
Divers with the North Shore Dive Team located the body of Andrew Roberts, of Clearlake, around 10:40 p.m. local time on Sunday, June 8, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).
Authorities said the teen was “part of a group trip and told others he was headed to the pool,” but had not been heard from since then.
He was last seen in the Big Beach area of Hidden Valley Lake around 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, authorities said in their statement.
Additional details, including his cause of death, have not been publicly shared by authorities.
Support services will be provided to students and staff of the middle school in wake of the tragedy, according to the school’s statement.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to Andrew’s family, friends, and all who are grieving this profound loss,” school officials stated. They later added, “We hold Andrew’s memory in our hearts and will continue to honor his life in the days ahead.”
Authorities said multiple agencies assisted with the search, including the North Shore Dive Team and Lake County Search and Rescue, as well as personnel from KCORP, CAL FIRE, South Lake Fire, Hidden Valley Security and a K9 officer.
“The Lake County Sheriff’s Office extends our heartfelt condolences to Andrew’s family, friends, and the entire community during this difficult time,” the LCSO stated in its news release.
